Further to the President’s previous messages, highlighting the Association’s focus on London arbitration continuing to function throughout the pandemic period, and based on experience gleaned since then, the LMAA Working Group has produced the attached guidance as to the procedures and etiquette to be adopted in virtual hearings and for possible inclusion (in whole or in part) in related directions.

Although at this stage predominantly aimed at wholly virtual hearings, during the current ongoing government restrictions, it is anticipated that the relevance of these guidelines will continue into the future as quasi-virtual, hybrid hearings (involving participation by some parties physically in a hearing room and some virtually) become an increasingly usual and viable option available to parties.

It is envisaged that these Guidelines will develop, as experience is gained and accumulated by all involved parties, and Members are actively encouraged to offer their feedback to the Association, as indicated in the Guidelines.
