The LMAA is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Gaunt as the Deputy Honorary Secretary of the LMAA. Ian will take over from Simon Gault as Honorary Secretary during the course of next year.

Ian was in practice as a maritime lawyer with Messrs Sinclair Roche & Temperley for 20 years from 1979 to 1999. In 1999 he joined the Carnival Group and was responsible to the Chief Executive for the group’s shipbuilding programme. He relinquished the position as the Senior Vice President-International of the Group, but retains a consultancy with regard to shipbuilding matters.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and practices as an arbitrator.
